1848 Braided Hair Large Cent, specifically the Newcomb-32 variety R-5 rarity Index indicated by the date farther left and the die crack on the reverse next to the "I" It is made of copper and has a brown color. The coin is a rare variety in XF/AU condition. It is a valuable piece of US coinage history from the mid-19th century. The N-32 isn't seen very often. I can only find 1 other example forsale and it's over $800 and is in worse shape then this example
