There is no bottom piece so that I can lift case on/off and show and/or use the set.<br>Released in 1994 in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Original Star Trek TV Series.<br>It was first seen in the second episode of the Original Series, Charlie X. <br>It was also a major part of the plot in a Season 1, Episode 20, Court Martial.<br>The 32 game pieces are precision cast and coated in sterling silver or 24 karat gold.<br>This iconic 3-D chess set comes complete with C.O.A, highly collectible booklet.
