A striking pendant with a beautiful piece of Laguna agate. Laguna only occurs in one area in the world & there's only one functioning mine. Located in Ojo Laguna, Chihuahua, northern Mexico, the mine produces agates with a vast variety of coloring and crisp banding which make Laguna agates highly sought after and prized by collectors. In this pendant, the stone is the star, set in a plain bezel, which doesn't detract from it's beauty. The large hand stamped bale will accommodate a variety of chains or beaded necklaces. The stone's color is not as intense as the photos portray. Less orange and more of a goldenrod color. I took many photos under different lighting, but this is the best result I got. The pendant measures 2 3/8" long from the top of the bale x 1 1/16" at the widest. I placed it on a 10 strand, non-native, sterling liquid silver chain that's adjustable from 17-19.5". Also included are a matching pair of liquid silver earrings. Marked "G Sterling". 26.9 grams. Beautiful.
