°The openers that say "Made in the U.S.A" appeared between 1943 &amp; the early 1970's. The number above "Made in the U.S.A repressnts the openers position in which it was molded to be used for casting. That way if there was ever a defect with an opener after being cast, the number allowed the foundry to quickly identify &amp; fix the issue. The number does NOT represent the year it was made nor the order. <br>°These bottle openers became collectibles over the years because of their history, trademark, &amp; variety of designs.
