This is the complete set of (8) Paramount Pictures Movie Lobby Cards (1945) measuring 11" x 14" for the horse track gambling drama directed by Raul Walsh & starring Alan Ladd, Gail Russell & William Demarest (later he played Uncle Charlie on the TV series “My Three Sons”). The film was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.

The condition of this unrestored set of eight stylized midcentury lobby cards (11”x14”) for a horse track gambling film is in good to very good with excellent color & sophisticated period-appropriate images. The cards have some wear & tear such as edge & corner wear, pinholes/minor pinhole tears in corners, creases, noticeable smudges, scuffs & tiny border tears. One lobby card has small strips of paper & plastic tape on the verso. (See photos) Overall the images are cool & display pretty well.

Alan Ladd was a major film star in the 1940s & early 1950s, particularly in classic film noirs like “This Gun for Hire”, “The Glass Key” & “The Blue Dahlia”.
