Non smoking household <br>Hard To Find RARE doll in original burlap rag dress, safety pin & panties, the panties show age. Overall excellent condition for being 58!<br>Designed by Deet D'Andrade, Little Miss No-Name is said to have drawn inspiration from the paintings of artist Margaret Keane, whose work featured large-eyed children. The impoverished doll came without shoes & dressed in a burlap sack with patches & a safety pin holding the outfit together. Toy brand Hasbro intended this unusual doll to be an alternative to the hugely popular Barbie. In keeping with the climate of the mid-sixties, they wanted to teach little girls compassion & the realities of life for those less fortunate. With large expressive eyes, Little Miss No Name is dressed in rags, barefoot & has a very large tear. She even has an outstretched hand, waiting to be consoled & protected. Most kids were terrified. Hasbro quickly discontinued the doll. She is on the list of the top 10 creepy or disturbing dolls!
